This Vehicle was previously detailed at a Mercedes
Dealership. Our Client brought it to us to
professionally correct the swirls, scratches, and the
hazing left behind by previous detailer. The before
picture of the hood just goes to show you what a
cheap detail job looks like and the after picture shows
how we not only correct the paint but provide depth,
clarity and gloss. The interior was also redone after
determining the interior dressing used by the last
detailer was just covering up dirt and debris meaning
the vehicle was never actually cleaned but in fact just
made to look shiny. Once those cheap products they
used wore off in less than a week, dirt came back in
worse condition than when originally took his vehicle
to the dealer. This is why I advise our future clients to
get their vehicle detailed RIGHT the first time at one
of my shops otherwise you will end up spending more
time and money correcting that initial cheap detail
work. Next time you decide to get your vehicle detailed
be careful to whom you trust with your investment.
What is paint correction?
Paint correction is the process of restoring and rejuvenating the paint work of a vehicle. Mostly
through the elimination of surface imperfections, that dull, oxidize, or haze the surface by reflecting
light off in various directions. These imperfections include things like swirl marks & fine scratches,
bird dropping & acid rain etching, hologramming & buffer trails, and random isolated deep scratches.
Our paint correction process removes those imperfections from your vehicle paint surface and not
just merely cover them up or with filler based products. This corrective process itself comprises of a
small amount of clear coat being removed from the paint surface with the use of abrasive polishes,
which are applied and worked in with appropriate polishing equipments, in order to level out the
Automotive Paint Correction: Re-leveling Wet
Sanding, Buffing, Polishing and Sealing.
How is paint correction achieved?
The steps listed below may not apply to each situation it depends on your vehicle conditions and
depth of those scratches*. (Cost by Estimate only)
Step 1: Removing all surface contaminants Washing Process followed by Clay Bar.
Step 2 : Wet Sanding and Leveling.
Step 3: Buffing & Polishing.
Step 4: Waxing and Sealing the Vehicle.
Cost $300 and up depends on your vehicle condition and your expectation when added to your
complete or exterior detailing package.
** Some scratches or imperfections may actually be too deep or severe to safely remove without
risking removing too much clear coat and so are minimized and reduced as best as possible using
techniques with the machine polisher and polishing products that round off the edges of the
scratches and make them far less apparent in direct light.
*** The polishing is usually a multistage process as a range of different grades of polish are used.
Ranging from heavier cutting compounds, which remove the surface material, to finer products
which then remove any marks that the heavier products may have inflicted during the paint
correction process and generally refine the finish.
